Location
Noosa is located in Queensland at the northern end of a long golden strip of beaches known as the Sunshine Coast. It's national park contains native flora and fauna of the area. Noosa is an easy 1 hour drive away from the Brisbane CBD, and just an 1 and a half hour flight from Sydney.

History
Noosa was first visited by a man called David Bracefell in 1828. European settlers arrived throughout the 19th century, with the first timber cutters arriving in around 1865. Later on in the 19th century they started finding gold nearby, this brought alot of settlets in this region. In 1930 Noosa headland was named a national park, to insure its protection in the future. The name Noosa came from the aborigional word shade or shadows. The aborigional kabi tribe had been visiting noosa for 40,000 years before the european settlers arrived. Today it is a little cosmopolitan costal town, with lots of places to stay , things to do and restaurants to eat at.

The identity of Noosa's community is that the culture of this place is beachy and relaxed. The people who go to Noosa for a holiday go for a relaxing holiday to get away from the city. People who live there are generally relaxed.
